Behind the Scenes at Green Screen Shoot

We just finished up a green screen shoot with the puppets last night. Here are a few pictures to share what the two days were like.
I  manipulated the puppets to a soundtrack we've already created with voice actors. We shoot each puppet individually then Lee composites them in the desired layout. In that way it is much like a traditional animation process.

Lee is responsible for the cameras, lighting, capture equipment and anything technical.

The characters waiting for their cue.

When shooting this way the image that I am seeing in the monitor is opposite to what my arm is doing. This always takes good bit of practice to get right.
A few of our puppets have too much green in their skin and costumes to shoot in front of the green screen, so we have to put up a make shift blue screen for their footage.

Heading to Tennessee for a Shoot

Early tomorrow morning I’ll be packing up the puppets, props, tools and repair supplies and heading to Tennessee in hopes of beating the rush hour traffic through Atlanta. Over the next few days Lee and I will be shooting the UG3 characters in a green screen studio.

We are heading into the last leg of production for UG3 and the plan is to have a finished film by late October/early November. I’m hoping to post a couple of times over the next few days to let you know how things are going.

To everyone who has supported us with funds and encouragement I can’t thank you enough. Thank you for believing in us.

Sincerely,
Al W.

Successful Kickstarter Campaign!

I want to say a huge thank you to all those who pledged during our UG3 Kickstarter campaign. We succeeded in raising our goal and can now move on to completing the film. I can’t tell you how appreciative I am to all who have invested in this project as well as everyone who helped spread the word.  I’ll keep everyone updated on the progress and look forward to sending out those rewards when we finish in a few more months. Thank You!
